Fire boards offer a vastly superior resistance to fire than ordinary plasterboard; rated to British Fire Regulation Standards, products have various safety ratings assigned to them according to how efficiently they behave in a fire.

• When installed properly, a fire can usually be contained to just one room with the right boards, paints and sealants being used to protect as much as possible within the room.
